September is here and that means another season of NFL football is just around the corner. The Minnesota Vikings enter the 2019 NFL season with a chance to make some noise in the NFC North. The Minnesota Vikings’ odds of winning the Super Bowl are better than many may think, and the Vikings’ playoff odds are real as well. Minnesota is set up for success and so are those planning on betting on the Vikings in 2019.
The Minnesota Vikings have been on a roller coaster over the past few seasons. Starting in 2015, the Vikings have won the NFC North with double-digit win totals in every odd year (2015 and 2017) while just barely reaching the .500 mark with eight wins in both 2016 and 2018. Based off that, the Vikings are in good shape heading into 2019. Of course you can’t bet or count just on patterns, but if you combine the Vikings’ recent history with their roster and prospects entering the 2019 season, it looks like they have a pretty good chance of following that pattern anyway and making the playoffs again in an odd-yeared season.
The Vikings have Kirk Cousins under center, Dalvin Cook ready to break out in the backfield, and a pair of exciting receivers in Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs on offense. If you add in Kyle Rudolph and a solid offensive line, it’s an impressive group for Mike Zimmer.
On defense, Danielle Hunter, Everson Griffen and Linval Joseph will hold down the fort up front, Anthony Barr and Eric Kendricks will patrol the middle of the field, while Xavier Rhodes and Trae Waynes are solid in the secondary.
The Vikings have all the makings of a playoff team.
Can the Vikings reach the double-digit mark to win NFC North?
The over/under on wins for the Minnesota Vikings in 2019 is set at nine. It’s a reasonable line for the Vikings, but there is reason to believe that they can win at least 10 games.
Reaching double digits in wins is the goal for every NFL club, and that is no different for the Minnesota Vikings. Not only would reaching 10 wins put the Vikings in good position for a playoff spot, it would make those of you who bet “over” on the Vikings’ win over/under of nine wins a winner.
Not only should the Vikings win at least 10 games, they have a good chance of winning the NFC North. They have a solid foundation and experts across the country are already expecting the Purple and Gold to be the gold standard of the NFC North this season. The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers pose threats, but the Vikings have them beat.
Can the Vikings win it all in 2019?
Yes, yes they can. OK, maybe it’s not that easy. But still, the Vikings have a great chance of competing for the Super Bowl in the 2019 NFL season. They have a steady presence under center with strong weapons around him on offense as well as an intimidating defense on the other side of the ball.
The Vikings only have one playoff win in this decade, but it was a big one — a 29-24 walk-off win against the Saints. Then they got demolished by the Eagles in the NFC Championship Game. The Vikings still have that bitter taste in their mouths from that game and last season, and they’re going to use it as motivation in 2019.
